What is CBCT 3D Imaging
Think of a traditional dental X-ray as a flat, 2D photograph. While helpful, it only shows one angle. CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) is like a 3D digital map. It uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam to take hundreds of pictures in a single rotation, which are then stitched together to create a high-definition 3D model of your teeth, jaw, nerves, and sinuses.
Why We Invested in 3D for You
At Holcroft Dentistry, we believe that when we can see more, we can treat you better. Unlike traditional 2D X-rays, our scanner takes a full 360-degree look at your unique anatomy, providing a level of detail never before possible.
How This Benefits Your Smile:
- Predictable Implants: We can virtually "place" your implant on the screen before your procedure, ensuring a more predictable placement.
- Accurate Root Canals: We can see the tiny, complex shapes of your roots to treat infections with pinpoint precision.
- Early Detection: We can find hidden fractures or infections before they cause pain or require more invasive surgery.
What to Expect
- Preparation: You don’t need to do anything special! We will just ask you to remove any jewelry or glasses.
- The Scan: You will stand or sit in the open machine. A mechanical arm will rotate around your head for about 20 seconds. It is completely painless and non-invasive.
- The Reveal: We can view your 3D model on the monitor immediately and walk you through your treatment plan in real-time.
